Malaysia's installed PV power tops 211.9 MW

Approximately 211.9 MW of operational PV capacity had been installed under Malaysia's FIT scheme as of the end of September 2015, according to the country’s Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA). At the end of the previous month, the country’s installed PV capacity stood at 207.3 MW. Since the beginning of this year, roughly 50 MW of PV power were installed in Malaysia. The total amount of renewable energy power installed under the FIT scheme -- which allocates incentives for solar, biogas, biomass and small-hydro projects -- has reached 331.33 MW. SEDA also reports that there are currently 84.1 MW of PV projects under development through the FIT scheme. Of this capacity, 72.0 MW was approved in 2015, 11.1 MW in 2014 and 0.8 MW in 2013. As of Aug. 31, 2015 the PV projects under developed totaled 87.9 MW.
